nature is speaking

term 3 week 1

The first week of the term has gone extremely fast as usual. We are now training for cross country and on Monday i only got 2.2 k, on Tuesday I got 4.5k, on Wednesday I really pushed myself and did 6k and on on Friday  my legs hurt so I only ran 3k. For Math we are now doing measurement, and I have learnt about PI. I learnt that you have to figure out the diameter of a circle and multiply that by PI which is 3.14, so if it shows you the radius you would have to double it to get the diameter. I learnt a lot about refugees because my persuasive writing is about that. In Tech arts I am enjoying music and have learnt a few more chords on the ukulele. I found it quite easy because it's similar to guitar, and learnt how to use this fun music app with Patrick. For guitar I have to try and learn sweet home Alabama and some more picking.

term 2 week 8

This week has gone really fast for me. In science for tech arts we had to make an octaginal pyramid, and I learnt that it needs an octagon on the base of the pyramid. We had to try and make it 1 metre tall with 40 straws, tape and scissors. We did volleyball again, and I learnt a few more skills. I started a book review called the outsiders, and I am almost at the end of the book and I really like it. For English I learnt about semicolons and where you need tyo put them. In math I learnt revised how to multiply and divide decimals because I forgot what to do, but now I completly understand it.

term 2 week 6

 This week has been fun and gone really fast. This week we only had 4 days of school because we celebrated the queens birthday on Monday. In science Quin and I finished the marble run on Tuesday, and and finished with 14 seconds but we meant to try and make it 20. I learnt about friction and forces on Friday. I learnt that the gravity and the ground force push against each other. We did winter sports and my sport was basket ball for Mangapiko. Our first game against Punui we drew, lost against Waipa and won against Waikato. In maths I learnt about ratios and at the start of the week I didn't know anything about they because I didn't learn much about them in primary, but at the first learning intention it was a big challenge, but now because we learnt about them all week I find it really easy.  

week 4 term 2

This week I have learnt a lot about chimpanzees because my report was about it. I wrote my introduction, diet, habitat, size and color, growing up and i still need to finish my conclusion. They can do so much with their hands and if they want to eat a whole bunch of ants and termites from a nest the will poke it with a twig or a blade of grass and all the bugs will cling onto it so they can eat it. My reading task is called Raymond's run which is about a competitive short distance runner called Hazel with a big brother called Raymond who is a down syndrome, but she acts like Raymond's mum because she doesn't want anyone talking bad stuff about him. I did a lot of maths and and learnt a lot about fractions. We did science on Tuesday and Friday and on Friday we learnt about moving objects and also friction We had to make a marble run and make it last for 20 second but we will finish it next week and my partner was Quin and I.

Term 2 week 3

On week 3 I was sick and missed out on Monday and Tuesday. We did a fraction test to see how good we are and I have a lot to learn. I learnt an easy way to find out the smallest decimal to the biggest. I learnt to put the decimals in a column and it really helped me understand how to work it out. I finished my truck at wood work and i'm really pleased with it. At science I learnt about a cylinder empty tea bag and we wrote about POEW P for prediction,O for observe, E for explanation and W for what if? We had to light it and see what will happen and if you stand it up and light from the top it will burn and before it burns the whole thing it rises up into the air. We had groups of 4 and see what will happen if we light it differently or something. We lit it from the middle and it was a success, we had a go folding it and lighting it from the left bottom side and it didn't work and we also cut it in half and put one half into the other and it worked.

Week 2 term 2 has gone really fast for me with a lot of exciting things. I did a test about geometry about all the things we learnt, and I learnt about compass bearings and true bearings. I have learnt a ancient sport I've never done before called la crosse. It's when you have a stick and a net at the end of it. I learnt to scoop the ball up and pass to eachother from multiple distances. I learnt the way you ment to throw the ball and catch. I also learnt that you to throw the ball high up for your team mate to catch instead of throwing it straight at them. In tech arts it was our last 2 sessions at wood work to complete our truck. I learnt how to use the bench drill properly and how to assemble bits to your truck. I have not finished my truck yet and hopefully I can have more sessions to finish it. We have started reading groups and I read a story about a girl who is really good at short distance running. So I have done a lot of cool and interesting things for week two and I know week three will be just as better.

On the 1st week of term two i've done some exciting things. On Tuesday and Friday for tech arts we are doing wood work and only have 2 lessons left. I am the only person who hasn't finished their 10 wheels for our trucks that we are making. On week 2 and 3 I have to work hard to finish my truck. I also listened to a stand up comedian called Mike king with a very interesting story about his life fighting depression and addiction such as alcohol  and drugs. In math i learnt a lot of angles in a triangle and at first I didn't get it but once I went to the mat for the 2nd turn I ended up understanding the meaning and finished it. I also learnt to combined two simple sentences into a compound sentence and complex sentences for using aaaawwubbis.

week 6

I am loving intermediate so far, and i'm enjoying tech arts very much and we are designing a bag. Mine says UK at the top because that's where i'm from and NZ at the bottom with a blue star in the middle. I found it hard to sew the letters onto my bag. I enjoyed the soccer trials. I learnt what a compound, complex and simple sentences mean. Complex sentences have Awubis words and compound have fanboys they are.

week 3

In week 3 i have had loads of fun, i'm am now learning guitar every week. This week i have learnt how to use a sowing machine so we could make a pencil case. It is full of different colors with a dark blue zip. I have learnt a lot about Waitangi day because we are going to the Te Awamutu museum next week.

For the first 2 weeks at intermediate i have loved everything. Last week we made a soft ball at tech arts i found it difficult but fun. I have learnt a lot of fun games like softball, long ball and danish rounders. I've been trying to get involved with many opportunities and i am now learning guitar. I prefer jump jam here and many other stuff i really like my first 2 weeks

I am loving my first week at intermediate and always having loads of fun i am looking forward to tech arts this afternoon, there are so much more opportunities than primaryy
